    Hey,

Getting conscious sedation tomorrow, IV sedation. Has anyone had this before? Can you walk after the procedure? Do you feel very bad after it?

Gettinga tooth extracted via drilling of the dental drill - not looking fowa\rd to it :(

    Hey there,
IV sedation is a nice way to have treatment like this.

Yes- you will be able to walk afterwards, you may not be 100% stable but you should be cab able of walking before being allowed home.
You must have an escort to bring you home. In my clinic, I insist on having a responsible adult to bring you home and look after you for the rest of the day.
You are not allowed to drive or do anything important for the rest of the day too.

IV sedation generally does not cause nausea afterwards.

    Good luck,
    OS

Had CS earlier this year. Would recommend it. Very relaxing. You are aware that there are people around you, but you don't care. Like being in a dream, but you're awake. An added bonus is that time flies. Seemed like the whole thing took about 5 minutes.

No after effects afterwards, felt fine. Will need someone to drive you home afterwards.

    Worth every penny!

Thank you so much for all your replies - very reassurring and comforting!

Went in today and honestly felt a pinch getting sedation thing put in and then next thing I knew I was outside recovering! What a wonderful drug.

My mouth is still alil bloody, normal after extraction I guess!

    Thanks again!

Glad it all went well for you :)

Can I ask you how much it cost for the sedation? I need to get a back tooth pulled and there is no way in helll I can go through it without sedation?

    thanks.

ok, take it that it wasn't pleasant?
just loads of people mention getting sedated even though they've never had work done awake, and for most it's an unnecessary fear.

It was horrific, even though it didnt really hurt, per se, I could feel it coming out, and I am a terrible coward into the mix :)

Id just rather be dopey while its going on, thats why I was asking the OP the price, just wondered was it very expensive.
