Heat Pump Sizing

    Hi there,
We have approached several companies for our geothermal/underfloor heating system and have received quotes for 8, 10, and 12 kW heatpumps from different manufacturers. All the manufacturers websites make great claims about the performance of their heat pumps and all the companies who have provided quotes state that their heat pump size is accurate. Does anyone have any suggestions what size of heat pump might be most suitable for a 237m2 house?
    Thanks

I'm not trying to be funny but if the house,

has heat losses of 8kWh the the 8kW heatpump is OK
has heat losses of 10kWh the the 10kW heatpump is OK
has heat losses of 12kWh the the 12kW heatpump is OK

you should ask the suppliers to show you there heat loss calculations, each element of each room,
not 30, 40, 50 watts/m2 the supplier that can give you this probably knows what he's doing.

Sure, the sellers will ask no questions except: how much is he willing to spend?

Seriously: an energy advisor, a heating engineer or a civil engineer will have to calculate the demand before any thought is made on the coverage.
Ask for a written calculation according to EN12831 (or similar), signed and sealed.

Just to sort out the cowboys ask the sellers for this.
