What happens if you have internet banking and someone manages to access it by placing spyware etc on your pc over the net. If you take all the precautions you can has the bank any liability if money is stolen from your account?

What about electronic statements by email. Who is responsible if they are intercepted?

Is it all the customers responsibility?

I would suspect the bank has alot of insurance for this type of thing.
It would rate similar to your credit card being copied and then used.

If proven it wasnt you taking the money I think they would repay under the provision that you co-operate with their investigation.

Interesting question on the liability side but I just dont know.

Happened to me a few years back that someone had compromised my credit card, rang AIB, they sent me a form to sign, and I didn't have to pay anything, it happened online too, ring your Bank to see what they say
