Has anyone else noticed that they seem to have done away with the lip on boots, the part for covering the laces. Puma Kings, Umbros and the old Copa Mundials seem to be the only ones left, now all thats left are the feckin chewing gum style boots!!!

    It's called a tongue. It's not football boot-specific either.

If you use male professions as a guide to historical football boot design, they used to be truck drivers and rodeo jockeys ; now they're hairdressers or work in tanning salons.

As long as these remain on sale, there is no issue, best freakin' boots available.

Prodirect Soccer are having a clearance sale

I ordered boots from them three weeks ago, got the boots but they were too small. Was no hassle returning them (did cost €6 though) and had them again last week.

    Great service I must say.

€6 to send them back? How did you manage that? Or are you forgetting the roughly €25 it costs to post them back to the UK.

I've never had a pair of comfortable football boots, stupid fat feet. Back in the day I'd even try on the expensive ones to see if they were any better, they weren't :pac:

Dunno to be honest. Are Predator PS's old?

I had a look on the elverys and champion sports websites and the copa mundials were the only pair with the tongue.

Yeah there's been at least 2 pairs out since them, maybe 3. The new ones don't have the tongue anymore

Pro Direct Soccer currently have 4.5's in stock, Mundials are a huge seller, email them about your size and I'd be surprised if they didnt get your size for you.

Tongueless, uncomfortable, crazy coloured boots that attract the Nicklas Bendtners of the world to part with their money. :pac:
