TM MP7 or G&G Mp5?

    'ello everybody.

right so I'm thinking of going for a CQB load out fro Vacant, my basic question is, MP7 or MP5?

I'd love an MP7, but I'm worried that it will be alot harder to upgrade than an MP5?

From working with MP5's, i know i can take them apart and replace hop up and barrel, however when i look at the TM mp7 I'm not sure if you can even get into the gearbox as it looks like the entire body is heat sealed.

So to make a long story short, if an mp7 is upgrade-able how difficult/easy is it or would it just be better to get an Mp5?

    thanks :D

You don't even need to upgrade the TM MP7 - I'd leave it as is, but you can get into it. The backplate comes off and the gearbox and barrel slides out the back after you remove a few pins.

cheers Ger, well I wouldn't be going near the gearbox, more the barrel and the hop up. And for future reference if i ever wanted to install a mosfet or whatever :)

not relplacing it but i like to know whether or not I can. Airsoft guns, as much as we love them have a tendency to break, they're all mechanical devices so was making sure I can get into it if needs be.

yeah, as you seen the bloke had to use a smaller battery to fit it all in.

You can pick up 7.4v lipos for cheap enough and they'll last longer than the nimh standard one so you probably won't need to pay for spare batteries. I think that the cost of a mosfet and a 7.4v lipo could be less than an AEP battery.

AEP batteries can be gotten over here fairly cheap.

The MOSFET listen by the author of that guide will set you back up to €10 IIRC over here - if you can find somewhere with the correct one instock. Lipo is about €15 landed, so you're at €25 before wiring and other necessary bits and pieces.

The fact that MOSFET has no proper heatsink either means I'd be wary of using it - overheating electrical components aren't nice. Last one that I had over heat on me was in an effects pedal power supply, it fried about €200 worth of pedals because there was no heatsink. Still not sure how though...

the tm mp7 outshoots a lot of lower end guns as "stock", if your gettin the mp7, i would say get a multi pack of "mag" mids, and a battery adaptor(easy to make either).

I've a mosfet specifically designed for AEPs.
There's also an upgrade kit available for the MP7, which I also have sitting here.
Just need to get some wire & lipos and sit down for an hour or two to get it all done.

You can also get a tight barrel for the MP7, which is the easiest upgrade to do. I've one in mine. If I can do it, anyone can.

As has already been said though, the TM MP7 shoots very well as is. Good range for it's size. The response / ROF is a little lacking due to the 7.2v batteries, but still packs a good punch above it's weight!

If you really want to pimp it out, I'd recommend getting a 'Satellite' bungee sling (note this isn't a normal bungee sling) and a Laylax/Nineball MP7 sling swivel.

    That is great Casper.

Quick question; did you have any issues when ordering that mosfet?
I only ask as every time I have tried to order one it goes through to Paypal and brings up an error message, it says that there is a problem with the sellers website!

I have emailed them and await there response.

Just got a reply from them.:(

"Sorry, but we have discontinued that version. Unfortunately that part of our website must not have updated properly. You could order a standard mosfet and try to fit it in there. It will be a tight squeeze, but should fit in the space for the fuse with some modification."

Sorry, only reading this now Rooky.
Yeah, I ordered this back in the Spring with the intention of installing it for Rionegro, but it didn't arrive in time, so it's been sitting on the back-burner since then.
