Samsung Galaxy S II or Nexus?

    Hi all,

    Hope it's okay to stick a thread like this up. Was all set to get a Galaxy II this week and now I see that Meteor have the Nexus on PAYG as well which has totally thrown me!

    I use my phone an awful lot, do a lot of browsing in particular, as well as texting. Have tried out the Nexus and liked it but was under the impression the Galaxy II was very fast which appeals to me due to my heavy useage. Is there a big difference between them? The Nexus seems like a more manageable size for me as well. I'm keen to get something decent cos I tend to keep my phones for a good while, but at this point my Nokia 5800 is on its last legs so need to decide soon.

    Do ye good people have any advice/ideas? Thanks :o

    i used the S2 for about 2 weeks and found the battery life to be poor. this week I got the nexus and while i notice an improvement it still isn't as good as my iphone.

    since the nexus is running ICS I guess it is probably the better phone to go for (no flash support yet but on the by the end of the year).

    not sure if it helps or makes the decision harder.

    I too am very interested in this.
    I have the HTC Desire at the moment and my upgrade is right before Christmas.
    Really can't decide between the two.

    The S2 seems better just I really like the HD screen on the Nexus.

    Anyone else think of anything?

    I had the same choice to make too and I wwnt with the Nexus.

    Got a great deal on it so that helped.

    So far so good with it. Battery wasbstill on 66% after getting home from work and id been using it as I wouldbhave used my desire and the batter would normally be on 40 odd with that.

    Screen is great.
    The few annoying things so far is the keyboard auto correct doesnt work when typing posts online.
    Had a bug where the browser kept closing itself but thats only happened once.
    Lack of sd card slot is major drawback.
    I miss the optical track pad from the desire too.
    Still happy overall with the phone. I find the sgs2 fairly ugly so that put me off it.

    I'm highly considering the Galaxy Nexus myself for christmas, slightly edges out the SII IMO. I'm just concerned that Samsung will release the SIII in the April/May, which will more than likely blow both out of the water. Then again i suppose there will always be a better phone...
