Does anyone know if any Dublin shops are selling the FCB1010?

Nope, no Irish store stocks Behringer.

Pretty sure it's something to do with Behringer only selling it to larger companies in mass bulk to keep costs low

Is that true? I don't think it is. I've bought Behringer Mixers in Cork, Behringer MIDI controller keyboards in another place, and nearly every music shop stocks the Behringer cable tester.

The FCB-1010 is a great bit of kit. Do a search on here for a thread of mine, I modded mine with the UnO firmware, phantom power, and resprayed it black.

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056163571 According to that thread, retailers were being turned down by Behringer

I find that thread hard to believe though. Soundtrax in Cork has lots of Behringer stuff (Well, they did the last time I was in about a year ago), as does Munster Sounds.

MI (Musical Instrument) and Pro Audio retail are two different sectors that happen to have some overlap. Behringer do not offer exclusive distribution, so there can be several suppliers to stores, all at differing costs. A lot of these distributors may only deal with MI or Pro Audio clients.

As someone who has first hand knowledge of dealing with the aforementioned brand, they sell to certain retailers at a price that is far far less than Irish or most British retailers can buy it at. End result is that dealers will not stock them, as to sell the product would mean charging a price relative to cost. Then retailers run into the "typical rip off inflated price" mentality. I think you would all agree that most stores are doing their best to compete these days. The stores are responding to these sales tactics by not stocking the products.

I hope this answers your query.

Actually, you just confused the hell out of me :)
Are you saying that it's possible for sellers to stock them but they choose not to? It's on thomann and musicstore for a good price but I want it NOW!!!

Sorry. It is not possible for most music stores to access Behringer at this time due to a change in their distribution policy in early 2010.

Some professional audio stores may have access, but generally not to MI product.

Unfortunately, due to the actions of Behringer, the products are largely not available locally.
