Boiler Temperature

Moved into newly renovated house and just had the plumber back as noticed that pumped shower the water was only luke warm-never really hot. Looked at shower thermastat and set ok

While there he noticed that the water coming from the taps in general was not really too hot(I had noticed this too, but never really bothered me. Anyway he had a look at the boiler settings which was at 53 degrees. Reckoned this was too low and changed it to 70 degrees, so we'll test the shower tomorrow.

After he had gone we noticed that the rads were scalding(obviously as temp had been increased) and I mean scalding, most are fitted with TRV valuves. My questions

    (1) what should the optiumn temp for the boiler to be set at?

    (2) Assuming we get a hot shower by putting setting at 70 degrees whats my best way of stopping the rads getting scalding? TRV values were set at 3(18-21 degrees) but scalding

(3)Will the rads stay scalding till they have reached room temp and then switch themselves off?

Really appreciate some help on this as worried about kids burning the hands.

    Many thanks

PS: when boiler was set 53 degrees heating was good. Took little while to warm up BUT rads were never scalding.

    PPS Boiler make Baxi

65*C should be enough to heat rads and water.
