    Hi does any one know when the new car tax effective dates take effect
    My car tax is up on the 31st Dec 2011

    They take effect on jan 1

    I think you can tax at the old rate if you manually fill out the renewal, but the pre printed one is the new rate and I assume online is the same (don't know)

    my car tax is up on the 30th Dec, so i like to know if can tax it for the old price of 156 , instead of 225...

    I have my doubts that you will be able to use the old rates. Someone mentioned that the renewal slips for those whose tax will be up at end Dec are not out yet, presumably delayed until the budget gave the new rates.

    My tax is up at the end of December. Last week I got the renewal notice with the new rates on it. Its surprising how efficient they can be when it comes to bringing in more dosh.

    tax is monthly
    its up on the 31-12-11 due at new rates on 01-01-12

    Yes, you can tax it now but it will be at the new rate. Did mine last Thursday and had to pay the increased tax. I doubt going into a tax office will make any difference either if the tax is up at the end of this month. Your new tax disc will start from 01/01/2012 so this is why the new tax rate applies.
