I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec 2005. Each of the 2 back seats can be lowered forward to allow for greater room in the back of the car for luggage. However in one of these seats the latch mechanism seems to have boken and the seat cannot be freed. Is there a way to release the seat that does not involve buying a new seat? I…

I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec 2005.
Each of the 2 back seats can be lowered forward to allow for greater room in the back of the car for luggage.
However in one of these seats the latch mechanism seems to have boken and the seat cannot be freed.
Is there a way to release the seat that does not involve buying a new seat?
I don't seem to be able to work the mechanism manually and I am wary of causing even more damage by forcing the latch.
