    Hello,

I am 16 and I gamble. A lot. I have a substantial amount of money (> €10,000) in an online betting account and I want to withdraw it and stop.

The only way I can withdraw the money is by bank transfer. I just want to know if I will get into trouble if I do that. Do banks check each transaction? As in, will they notice a gambling company sending money to my account?

I'm giving up the gambling, just want to get my money out now.

    Thanks for any help.

The fact you are 16 means it is illegal for you to gamble, online or otherwise so the betting company could well retain any monies won as you signed up with false information.

If you want to try and get your money then perhaps tell your parents and see if they can arrange a transfer to one of their accounts.

Well done on realising you have a problem with it before it really took hold. Its great when you are winning but when you start losing, which you will do eventually, its much harder to stop.

Also, if you make that much you'll have to pay income tax on it. DO you have a friend/sibling over 18 who could withdraw it for you?

You wont have to pay income tax on it. Ask for maybe 5 smaller transactions over a period of time.

My main advice to you is stop gambelling now and never ever allow your self to gamble again. You are already an addict and right now you have been lucky. I work in the gambelling industry and trust me the only ones who win are the bookies, there wouldnt be so many of them about if this wasnt the case. I suggest you contact GA and attend some meetings. Perhaps if you see first hand how a gambelling addiction ruins lives then you will prevent this happening to you. Get out and stay out while you can.
