    Why do I have to pay TV Licence for a foreign satellite link?
    I'm not occupying any band or cable.
    It is unfair !!!

    I'm paying already for the card on the receiver.
    Anyone agrees?

    I suggest you find out what a television licence is actually for. I will save you the time. It is for owning equipment capable of receiving a television signal. It has nothing to do with where you choose to receive your television broadcasts from.

    So if you are receiving a UK television service you would happily pay the UK licence instead would you?

    Yes. That makes sense.
    what does not make any sense is paying a licence for something you are not using.

    A TV lincence is for owning a device that can receive TV signals. It also covers the ownership of any device that can receive broadcast radio signals. You licence the TV reception kit in whatever form that is.

    If you own TV reception kit, you need a licence regardless of what you watch on it, or even whether you use it.

    My dog watches TV on the internet - mainly channel K9 and the Cataholic Broadcasting network - does his dog licence cover this? (he's very clever - can operate the pause button and all)

    Off-topic so I apologise in advance. I thought we had exhausted the supply of tools who don't know what a TV licence is for. It's good to see a post from someone who can spell licence though.
