Legal Referencing Question

I asked something here before about referencing but I have one more question. (It is my first legal essay.) I can use any style once it is consistent. I notice a lot of papers I am reading have footnotes and a bibliography. However, footnotes only are used to reference legislation (i.e "Section 8 of the 1980 Act") Does this mean you don't have to include them in the bibliography?

To be honest I'd play it safe and include everything I referenced in the Bibliography, for a legal essay I'd use either OSCOLA or Harvard style referencing, no need to read through the whole manual on the referencing just download an example which is only a few pages and puts example's of how to reference a case, article etc. Make sure you include an article you are referring to in your footnote's aswell, and include the page number etc, then if the same article is being referenced again put "Ibid" or "Op. Cit" in the footnote.

Thanks for the reply. So to clarify, aside from the foot notes where I reference all sources my bibliography should also have Acts? So my bibliography should look like:

Bloggs, Mr 2011. Lawbook. 1st ed. Dublin: Publisher.
    Family Home Protection Act, 1976
    Succession Act, 1965
X, Ms 2008. Book. 1st ed. Dublin: Publisher.

You might not need to do this so if you want you should clarify with your lecturer, but yes that looks good. No need to throw in the sections you used in your bibliography, the name of the acts should be good enough.
