The Etihad B787-9 are due from 2014. They will get 3 or 4 delivered in 2014.

It's nothing special to look at IMO , if anything much lower to the ground than say a A330......., just a fuel efficient plastic aero plane says me with a jaundiced eye:)

    Dublin, Kuala Lumpur

Sweet when I come home in 2014 it would be a 787 all the way ... KUL - AUH - DUB.

Have to say the 787 looks awful. Just something about it that it doesn't do it for me.

I think it looks great, especially the engines. It would look even better in EI livery, but Mr Mannion ruled that out :(

I can't say I dislike OR like it. In that regard it is quite uninspiring. I have yet to see it in the flesh (so to speak) but looking at pics I think the slightly larger windows make it look smaller than it is. (something to do with size ratio's I assume?)

I think the wingflex looks very impressive but I'll reserve my final opinion until next month when apparently it will visit DUB during the 14th Annual International Aviation Finance Conference. Takes place in 4 Seasons Hotel from Jan 24-26th.

And while I think the A380 is ungainly and bulkly looking I still love looking at them. I have seen one turning sharply to line up at LHR and she looked pretty elegant then- http://www.flickr.com/photos/tearbringer/3523627956/in/photostream/

Will we get advanced notice of when this is landing?

Only rumours so far but if it is going to happen I'm sure a spotter or two will get 2-3 days notice.

Is it the Etihad A380 or B787 coming to DUB

I actually really like the B787, I think it's a hell of a lot nicer to look at than the beast that is the A380.

    B787, I don't think you'll see an A380 in Dub for a long time.

Etihad said earlier this week they were in talks with IrishGov over EI stake....

    http://www.arabianbusiness.com/ireland-denies-etihad-talks-on-aer-lingus-stake-438894.html
Ireland has no plans to discuss the sale of its stake in Aer Lingus Group to Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, a government spokesman has said.

Leo Varadkar, the Irish transport minister, will meet with Etihad CEO James Hogan during a visit to the Gulf, but will limit talks to “tourism matters" John Carroll, the spokesman, told Bloomberg on Friday.

The comments came after Dubai daily Gulf News reported earlier on Friday that the meeting would include a discussion of Ireland’s 25 percent stake in Aer Lingus.

Etihad, which launched flights to Dublin in 2007, announced a recruitment drive in Ireland in October to find at least 100 new Irish employees to support the carrier's growth around the world.

Also in October, the UK's Financial Times said that Etihad had approached the Irish Government regarding its stake in Aer Lingus.

At the time, Varadkar said that he would not sell it for less than €1 per share, which would value the stake at €132.4m ($168.4m) and Aer Lingus at €529.6m, the newspaper said.

Etihad Airways said December 19 it would increase a stake in Air Berlin to 29 percent and provide financing for the purchase of new aircraft.

As part of the deal the German carrier will share flight codes with Etihad and shift flights from Dubai to Abu Dhabi.

    ..further complicating everything
