    Looking for either a good digital camera and a good digital camcorder...
    or else a good DSLR that has both hight quality pix/video


    approx 600 is budget

    You'll have to buy locally at this rate which makes your choices much more limited. I'll come up with a list later to see what suits you.

    Sam McCauley's in town have a few nice point and shoots. I don't think you want video on a dslr as it doesn't have auto focus so its really for serious video stuff.

    If you go in there have a look at the Canon G12 or the Nikon P7000. Both are under your budget. Great cameras for the price.

    This is a good bridge camera (bridge-halfway to DSLR) and it's half price in Argos at the moment And it's much easier to use than a DSLR. I'd suggest going on a photography course if you want to get the full potential out of a DSLR
