Good question, i've watched ALOT this year, i expanded my genre base quite a bit, i used to be accused of tween and while i still love those shows i've never been adverse to the more adult dramas.

For me Game Of Thrones would be in the list, i'd have to give Boss and nod as well, imo it's very underrated. Despite it's axing i really felt The Playboy Club was and still is the best NEW network show this year.

Boardwalk Empire would be on my list for sure, it's just a well made all rounder. But i can't really compile a top then right at the minute, have to think about it more. :)

The only series' I've really enjoyed are Breaking Bad, Misfits and Love/Hate. There are many would make a top 10, but top 10? How much TV can you watch to list a top 10?
Also thought Shameless was much better than last few seasons.

    Modern Family
    American Horror Story
    2 Broke Girls
Raising Hope (though its not as funny this season I still love it)
    Game of Thrones.
    Revenge
The Secret Circle(dont usually like tweeny CW stuff but I really enjoy this)

I still have to watch Homeland and Boardwalk Empire (both seasons) so I could be adding them to the list.

I was actually gonna say Secret Circle myself....but i'm not sure it make a top ten, ceetainly one of the better network shows this year, in terms of new shows.

2 Broke Girls....see, the last few eps. have been rather weak and it's just not original enough writing/charcter wise to even be considered top ten.
Revenge has been one of those soap opera guilty pleasure type shows...much better then expected....but a top ten?

    Parks & Recreation
    Game of Thrones
    Cougar Town
    True Blood
    Survivor
    Doctor Who
    Once Upon a Time
    The Colony
    Last Man Standing

I'm probably gonna get a bit of crap for having Last Man Standing on my list ahead of Raising Hope, Modern Family, New Girl etc. but for me its a show that has just gotten stronger week by week and its a classic US family sitcom, so theres a bit of a nostalgia factor there too...

Wouldn't usually sit down and watch something on the Discovery channel, but The Colony I found was must watch TV so it made the cut.

Once Upon of Time might not have gotten in there had I not just watched the latest episode, but I did and it was awesome.

Think the rest of them speak for themselves due to general awesomeness...

Breaking Bad (my fave this year so far - it built up and built up and built up to a fantastic finale).
Homeland (a close 2nd - really compelling TV - can't wait to see how it ends).
Game of Thrones (took a couple to get into, but I really enjoyed it).
Justified (seems like a long time ago now, but season 2 was stellar).
Strikeback (an adult version of 24 with blood, sex and swearing ... what's not to like?)
Secret Circle and Revenge (guilty pleasures - both really hokey, but good fun)

    On the Reality TV side:

Masterchef (UK Professionals and Aus) were excellent this year.
Survivor is currently going through one of its best seasons in years.
The Block (Aussie reality/DIY competition) was great this year.
Gold Rush Alaska is another addictive reality show - I've watched a season and a half in the last 2 weeks.

Breaking Bad - It started with one of the most tense scenes ever in Box Cutter, then was a little slow, but for good reason. There were some amazing moments in that show. The conclusion was superb as well, honestly fear for the writers next season.

Justified - Has to be considered the little sleeper, nobody talks about it outside of Boards. Got my dad on to it earlier in the year, he was hooked with one episode, still asking when I'll have season 3 for him. Timothy Olyphant is excellent in it, but what makes it so good is the support cast. Here's hoping Boyd never leaves, he's quality. Ava, Mags, Cooper, all awesome in the show.

Good question, i've watched ALOT this year

    A League Of Thrones?
    America, Land Of Taboos?
    Awesome Life Of Teachers?

    What channel is it on?

Breaking Bad is still the best. The only show I watch as soon I can after airing.

Homeland is the best new show I have watched this year.

The only one I bothered watching was Breaking Bad. Just such a brilliant show. The development of the characters has been transfixing.

i acept that challenge and raise you 29 shows on top of your 10:D

i tend to change shows based on my anticipation i get for the next episode, so id find it hard to break down most of my casual shows,

breaking bad, seriously just ubelievable, still kinda surprised people are still debating the wire vs sopranos without including breaking bad (and the west wing;)),

game of thrones, what a standard to set, reminded me of spartacus epic arrival on out screens nearly 2 years ago, a great collection of caracters and stories, season 2 has a very high standard to meet,

2 broke girls and new girl are just a breath of fresh air this season, with man up now gone ill be looking more to these shows for my laughs, TBBT and HIMYM are slipping big time, these multiseason renewals are a killer it seems,

homeland is another great new arrival this year, i just cant wait to see the conclusion and see how it works out and if "winters" will be around next year or what,

probably not high on a lot of peoples list but i normally look forward to hawaii five-0 and person of interest, five-0 is having a great encore season and POI looks like it has potential to be an above average procedural,

Have you watched Parks & Rec this year.. or last year for that matter? Probably THE best comedy on TV at the moment.

Homeland is the best new US show this year by a LONG LONG way!

A lot of quality shows missing from the list IMO...

    Fresh Meat
    Downton Abbey
    Love/Hate
    Sherlock
    Mad Dogs
    True Blood

All bar 'True Blood' wouldn't be considered as they:

    a) are UK / Irish productions
    b) don't air currently on network TV in the States.

PS - Both Sherlock and Mad Dogs aired last year too.

I don't want to give a Top 10 but for me Game of Thrones would be top followed by a lot of shows previously mentioned - Boardwalk Empire, Community, Sherlock, etc.

Also one show that hasn't been mentioned yet - Suits. I know it was a bit light but I really enjoyed it and I hope the second series is as good

    Homeland my favourite
Luther a close second (season 2 on the BBC)
    Suits light and watchable
    Game of Thrones
Chicago Code a decent cop show
    Big Bang Theory still class
    Misfits

Liked Alphas at start but it trailed off a bit.

I don't think this season I'd find ten shows to be considered all that great.
    Game of Thrones
    Sons of Anarchy
    Breaking Bad

would make the top 10 list. There's a number of shows I've enjoyed this season but that's probably due to my lack of sophisticated tv taste ;)

    These would be
    Suits
    Hart of Dixie
    Vampire Diaries
    Secret Circle
    The Big Bang Theory
    The Last Man Standing
    Homeland
    Bones
    Suburgatory
    Revenge
