Hi all, just a quick query. My uncle passed away recently in tragic circumstances and my aunt wants to drop in some mince pies, gingerbread cookies etc (homemade) into the local Garda station for all their help during the ordeal. Is this ok? We're not sure if they can accept them 'cos they will be made by my aunt and won't come in marked packaging, get my drift? Just want to know before my aunt gets upset etc you all know how it is :(
    Thanks!

    That's a lovely gesture.

Send them on to Deadwood and i'll make sure the right people get them.:D

(If you ring the station and give them the times and dates involved, they'll tell you when those guys are working. Home made goodies are extremely perishable - and that's nothing to do with the 'best before' date!)

    Banzai,
don't worry, they'll be heartily accepted and rightly so. A nice gesture, well done your auntie. Happy christmas.

A sister of a friend dropped in a Black Forest Gateaux to thank a Garda who had helped her when she couldn't work the gears on her new automatic ( go figure ) , the guy at the counter told her the Garda was out on patrol but to leave it with him and he'd be sure to '' save him a piece '' :D

As deadwood said, find out who the Gardaí involved are and drop them to them direct. I wouldn't eat anything unless I knew who I was getting it from (in regards Garda food being dropped in.......i'll eat Mrs deadwoods grub all day long)

Thanks for all the replies. We dropped in a few boxes of cakes at 2pm and 10pm yesterday after calling the station before hand.

    Happy Christmas!
