I was watching a comedy gig last night on the pc and one of the comedians said :

Gay is the new straight and straight is the new gay.

He then explained that only a real tough man would be able to roide another man and that only a real man could take it from behind from another man as well.

He then went on to say that any "man" that roides women instead are "gay" and are too in touch with their feminie side, like cuddling up etc.. etc...

This is obvioulsy wrong but perhaps only by normal perception ?
it does at the same time makes sense and if you saw the gig was fairly funny / true

So what do you AH's make of this conundrum

Only a real tough man could roide another man 3 votes

Yes I agree - man would you have to be tough to do that

No I disagree, I'm tough but still couldn't do that

I don't think you alluded strongly enough to what you truly meant here.

How do you seperate the men from the boys at a gay club?
Bucket of grease and a crowbar...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

OP, gay is not the opposite of manly.

I think people presume all men are camp because of the visibility fallacy that surrounds gay men. You notice camp men because they're camp and perhaps like to be the centre of attention.

You don't tend to notice the sexuality of the more reserved or quietly spoken gay guy because of the visibility fallacy working in reverse.

In any event, I would not be so rash to say that stereotypical camp gay men are not the definition of manliness.

To my mind, manliness is about courage and honour. I think it takes a strong dose of both to come to your family and tell them about your homosexuality when (even irrationally) you think your own flesh and blood might reject or think less of you for it.

Or away from the issue of sexuality altogether, I know gay men who exhibit far more courage than I would be capable of in stressful situations with financial and health issues in their own lives.

Not all straight men are particularly manly, and gay men are perfectly capable of being manly; manliness being a subset of both sexualities.

Comedians generally have the intelligence of a bag of sand. Ignore their insane mutterings.
