    Hey All,

I'm looking for recommendations for a company to recover a car from Limerick to Dublin? Had the car repaired a couple of weeks ago but it died on me when I was on the way to Killarney and now I need to get the car back to the garage that did the repair - real nightmare and want to avoid spending any more than I absolutely have to..

    Thanks!

Will your insurance company cover the transport? That's a huge distance all the same, perhaps rent a trailer and get a mate with a jeep? Everyone knows someone, ask around your friends and family, you'd be suprised. I was quoted around 200 for getting a car 50 miles before, can't imagine Dublin to Limrick being cheaper than that by a long shot.

Is it driving enough to get it up on the back of a big transporter? If so, Crosbie Transcar, NVD, GreenTiger etc. would be able to do it for you at a reasonable cost.

If it's a non-runner, then I'm afraid it will need to be winched up which means a small brakedown truck, and that would be pretty pricey.

Thanks for the posts - Not sure if the engine is running today but was completely dead and over heated yesterday..

I managed to find a company that was bringing a vehicle from Port Laoise to Limerick so they are going to do my car on the other half of the run. Better price than anyone else gave me and I've managed to convince the garage to go halves with me on the transport costs so not so bad in the end..
