I was hoping someone might be able to offer some assistance, I was initially going to buy the folks a Gaggia Classic but after thinking it through, the simpler the better, so I'm going to them a new stove-top and lots of nice coffees to go with it.

The only problem is, I'm having great difficulty locating any 12 cup makers, everything in stainless steel seems to be 10 cup, I did locate one on Amazon but they won't deliver to Ireland.

I'd like to avoid the aluminum pots if at all possible, I've read some horror stories on the newer Bialetti stainless range, supposedly they have a habit of losing their handle when you're lifting a steaming pot of coffee!

if there is a tkmaxx near you they'd be worth checking out

bialetti don't make a stainless steel 12 cup from what I can see : http://www.bialettishop.com/EspressoMakerMainPageStainlessSteel.htm

if you want to buy online then I can recommend kitchen essence - got some gear from them last xmas: www.kitchenessence.ie

    Didn't think of Tkmax, cheers.

Brick and mortar looks like my best option at this point, I've found a number of brands being sold in the US that do 12-14 cup but they're not available for delivery here, everywhere else online seems to be 10 cup, I'll go hunting for one midweek and report back if I can find one, they seem to be quite scarce.

Samba, how many people are you making coffee for at a time?
When I used moka pots I had various sizes and I found it was the smaller models I used the most.

Unless you are constantly making coffee for a half dozen people each time
    I would recommend a 2-4 cup model.

I know and so much goes to waste too, or you don't get the dosage right when making half brews, but in this instance, their home is their office so 750ml/12 cup stainless is perfect, they used to have a 10 cup and they were always just a bit short. I'm still considering a Gaggia classic, but I don't want to be receiving phone calls every day about the coffee machine and i'm equally worried about them running the machine without water or not giving it the care it will need.

Low maintenance is probably best, now if I can just find these elusive 12 cup stainless steels.

Run a search on www.froogle.co.uk for moka.

There are several stockists in the UK, you'll have to sift through them to see who will ship to Ireland - that is if you can make do with an aluminum model.

Thanks, I had a good long search already and nothing but aluminum, time to check the local shops and failing both, I guess it's going to be two small pots or one big aluminum one.
