Heat Distribution System

Hi, We're building a house at the moment and we'll be getting a stove installed - we were looking at whether we should invest in a heat distribution system, i.e. using ducting and a pump to distribute the heat from the stove to other rooms in the house.

Has anyone any experience of these and whether they are worth considering. Are they expensive?

If anyone had any recommendations on companies which provide this service could they pm me?

    Much appreciated.

Have u considered MHRV and the different variants thereof- loads on this forum...

There are some issues with what u suggest:
    eg
you are recirculating stale air throughout the house so if ur stove is smoky...

doors will need to be left open....

what impact will moving a lot of heated air have on the room the stove is in...

if its a 7 kw stove and the room requires 6 and u shift 5...

the heat loss on long runs, unless well insulated will be significant.

If u do well insulate them then go the whole hog and get MHRV or similiar

    Thanks for reply Carlow52.
We are already installing a Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery System in the house - this stove distribution system would be in addition to this.

The stove has it's own independent air supply pipe to the outer wall of the property - i.e. it does not draw air from the room. It's my understanding that it is the heated air from around the stove chimney housing that is drawn around the house - not the air from the stove itself, so should not be an issue with stale/smokey air.
