Loves Labours Lost - Holly vs. Rory

The Irish Sunday Mirror came out with this gem yesterday... on how "brave" Holly has been left "devastated" after "the multi-millionaire golfstar ditched her" and how "after the split, Holly left their sumptuous country retreat, complete with golf course, hot tubs and mega-sized gym."

I do feel sorry for her - they'd been together for six years after all - but the Mirror just digs into the pile of manure and and wallows in it. Would you expect anything less!

    The article's here

What has this got to do with Golf? Why post it?

For the picture of Holly alone it is worth posting.

I would be pretty sure Holly got herself a tidy golden handshake on the QT when they split to keep her sweet/quiet... any noteriety she has is purely because she went out with a famous golfer - what does she need sympathy for??

Who are you and what have you done with Kevin?

Who are you and what have you done with Kevin?

I'm not a fan of salacious gossip, but someone on Twitter directed me to the article and I couldn't resist. It's terrible stuff, but every now and again it's good to have a laugh. It's like an episode straight out of a soap.

I apologise if I have upset anyone with my reading/posting habits (I'm not seriously apologising but I don't think Gophur was too impressed).

    Bit Hello-ish

The lad is only a child in a way, 22.

If he can keep a lower profile and play less golf next year. But I don't think he can at this stage, his "commitments" are now not about his choices , his life in a way is in the hands of others.

This drives most young sports men a bit mental.

    Look at Tiger.

The guy has done well to keep his head together, but a tough number with constant demands on him.

Whats with the second line of that post FdP, could probably do with a bit of an edit.

Suppose their is nothing wrong with a bit of golf related gossip all the same, was looking at some golf mag yesterday and their was a section of Q&A with this years major winners.

One of the questions was "Who is your favorite sports woman"? McIlroy obviously enough answered miss Wozniacki, suppose it was a giving since he is after all poking her.! But then as I read across suppose who Clarke says is his favorite sports woman, Wozniacki too..! I was a bit WTF, Clarke has been around long enough to surely have someone a bit more prominent as his favorite sports woman. Well I was not expecting a young Danish tennis player even if she is world number 1. What about the Sonia O Sullivan and Michelle Smith ...

Then I was thinking Clarke the ol dog ... Hmmm I think this would be better placed in an email to the daily mail ..

    I agree,

My downfall as a young lad was playing too much golf, there was nobody walking down the ropes waiting for me like that, that is because with my slice I would kill the poor girl. Also I'm bit ugly too.

Of course , she is with Rory for his looks you know.

    The Irish Sunday Mirror

    I stopped reading here^^^

Re: Rory and Caro, I have read that it could be a ploy by their management/agency teams in order to attract big endorsement contracts due to the fact that a celebrity sports couple is very unique at the moment, and could attract massive sponsorship deals.

    Thoughts?

Some players play better with women than without. It was when Tiger lost all those women his golf faltered.
And for Sergio it was after Greg Normans daughter left him a few years back when his slump started until he started to date a Welsh girl from the Valleys this year.
Suppose it can work both ways.

Rory bought Holly a nice wee apartment in Belfast ...for 600,000 pounds. Thats according to a relation of his that I played golf with last August.

"It killed me - that's why I went away to Dubai as soon as we split up, so I didn't have to look or think about it.

"But when you're on a beach with nothing to take your mind off things, it still crops up. So you couldn't get away from it no matter what you did, it was still all over Twitter as well. So even if I was trying to take my mind off it, it still snuck its way back in."

My heart is bleeding. The poor girl!!!!!!!!!! How could you Rory!
Probably peeved she didn't get him up the aisle first and ensure her millions.

I think Rory dodged a bullet there.

Still, you can't bate a bit of Holly this time of year.
