Noob Android 2.3 stuff :s

    I asked in another thread but didn't get the answers I was looking for.

    I moved from 2.1 to 2.3 over the weekend and mostly love it, but and a bit confused about some things that are just not there anymore either due to my phone's build or just simply being not there in 2.3 any more?

    One of the 1st things I noticed gone are the notes, geotags, and back up and restore apps not being there anymore? Notes being the main one used, back up for restoring my sms messages etc from my 2.1 phone? Have these been left out of 2.3 or just not on the Sony Ericsson / vodafone build on xperia play phone?

    Also I now have a media folder icon in the bottom right, is there any way to add a short cut to video folder on there?

    I don't really see what you're asking. For a notes app you can just download one off the market? There are many.

    There are also many SMS restore apps too, and for the videos, just download a video player and have the default directory as the folder on the SD card or wherever it is.

    what phone are you on? I know Sony phones added extra programs on their 2.1 devices that weren't stock android apps to give a bit more functionality and they have now stripped them from their 2.3 builds as a lot of what the programs did is now part of android by default. So it could just a case of downloading apps to cater for what is now missing

    Got a new notes app really just liked the simplicity of the stock one in 2.1

    Back and restore sorted too, just being lazy really and reluctant to install an app on both phones and juggle sims and memory cards :o

    That leaves geo tag, can't seem to figure out how to get the pictures to show on maps, on 2.1 there was a separate app from google for it , meh not a big deal at all really.
