    Got myself a galaxy nexus.

Love the phone, best I've had so far.

But....went to plug it in to my mac to get photos of it.

Nothing happened...was like wtf? There are two options:

    1)
Found out need to download the android file manager software (thats supports MTP) so have to manually find the folder and take files of it...bit annoying!

    2)
Well, thought Id try the PTP protocol (for photos). iPhoto launches, decides to show all the images, music found on the WHOLE phone. FFS!

Bit pee'd off its so mac unfriendly.

At least my previous nokias, HTC's, sony ericssons I had before talked nicely but this is the first time I've come across a brick wall when its comes to mac compatibility.

Half thinking of selling it and buying an iPhone

I guess this is just heads up before anyone parts cash to get one.

Hopefully things will change and apple might accept MTP protocols soon..dont see it happening though! (MTP is a creation of microsoft!)

    Anyone in the same boat?

    Damo

If it's just a couple of pics email them to yourself or twet them, if it's a lot, then join google+ get the app and you can set it to automatically sync all of your photos to your google+ account, so you just need to hit the sync button and they'll be there a few seconds later

yeah its one route I guess! like to keep things simple!

Tried Kies, doesn't see the device! Gas, samsung software doesn't work with its own phone!

Although you will have to sign up to Google+ once that's done it is far more simple than connecting to your computer, you just press sync when your in wifi/3g

You could also set your phone up as an ftp server then ftp into it from your mac.
Not sure if there's a hack to get the galaxy Nexus as a mass storage device or not but worth checking out.

Blame Apple for their locked down OS that doesn't play nice with an open platform.

    You have many options:
Get the Swiftp app, set the phone as an FTP server and use an FTP client software on the Mac
Try Dropbox, add the files to a shared folder and install Dropbox on the Mac
Use Airdroid and control your phone from your browser

I found that the Android File Manager is not that bad... Way better than Kies! http://www.android.com/filetransfer/

Lacking of MTP support on Mac is an issue with Apple, not Google/Samsung.

actually using the airdroid thing now.

Looking into a possibility of migrating my music to google music cloud storage. uploading 60gig is gonna take a while!

can see this mtp thing becoming a new standard so won't be long till 3rd party apps come about! :)
