Old dragonfly sighting, expert ID required

    Hello folks, just realized I never got this dragonfly conclusivly ID'd. Seen in Blarney (Co.Cork) mid summer. Massive size, larger even then the 4 spotted chaser seen at the same site.

    looks like an emperor dragonfly/blue emperor (Anax imperator)

    Mick is correct.
    Top photo male, obviously lower photo is female, ovipositing (laying eggs) into the floating stem
