Does anyone know how to make curved arrows on a mac version of windows powerpoint? I usually use keynote so I'm totally lost! Have managed to find the formatting palatte but can't work out how to actually insert an arrow onto the slide!

Get the drawing toolbar open, it should have a black arrow and circly thing and a letter A. If you don't have it open, click View - Toolbars - Drawing. Then click the auto shapes tool, it looks like a square with a circle and a triangle. Then select the curve line and draw on the page. After that, double click the line and you will format the autoshape, so just select the end or beginning style to be an arrow.

This is presuming you're using PowerPoint X though.
