Do you mean you get it into your bank account? If the Monday is a bank holiday which I think it is? Then it should go in on Saturday I'd imagine

    The 3rd is a Tuesday.

Yeah but on bank holiday weekends child benefit goes into the bank on the Saturday. The only thing is the Saturday is new years eve so maybe it might go in even earlier

    Christmas payments info posted here

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056476894
Payment directly to an account in a financial institution – (Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT))
    Weekly Payments
All customers paid weekly will receive their normal payment(s) and an advance payment during the week beginning Monday 19 December, 2011. The advance payment will be the payment(s) due in the week beginning Monday 26 December 2011 and therefore there will be no regular weekly payment(s) that week.

Normal payment dates will resume from Tuesday 3 January 2012.

I don't think that applies to child benefit because as I say on a bank holiday its paid on late Friday night early Saturday but bank holidays don't affect weekly payments.

Tuesday 3rd is not a Bank Holiday, so as posted above, normal rules apply

No Tuesday's are bank holidays. Its always on the Monday but it for some reason affects the payment as stated

I've three children, age 9 and twins who are 4. For the last 9 years I have gotten my childrens allowance into my bank account and for all those 9 years I've gotten bank holiday childrens allowance the friday evening/saturday before the 1st tuesday of the month. Hope this helps. I still cross my fingers though - down to my last €60!

I am really hoping it is in tomorrow as my fridge and presses are bare! does anyone know if the AIB payment goes in at 12am has anyone checked their accounts? I think all the banks usually pay on the saturday now.

I should have set up online banking as every bank holiday weekend I panic that it won't be in on the saturday, it's so nice to have that money for the weekend.

Do you receive child benefit yourself into your account? that would be great if you could check it tomorrow..I'm just dreading going to the town and it's not in. Strange that it's not in at midnight, I am getting worried now!

I am a worrier I go through this everytime there is a bank holiday. I did ring the bank to set up online banking but my three year old was screaming in the background and this grumpy fecker was on the other end of the phone so I told him I would call back!
I'm thinking because it's new years eve it won't go in tomorrow, if you check it tomorrow can you post here?!
Just with it being the week after christmas I need literally everything as I spent too much on the kids for Santa.

Not in credit union accounts though so worth bearing in mind if you consider changing from bank to cu payments. Apparantly it'll be next week when they show as normal.

Im BOI and its usually in by now but not in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 506 ✭✭✭PoolDude

My wife is another with a BOI account and as of tonight (January 10th) it still has not gone in and looks like over €60 in charges for being over drawn to date based on the assumption that it had gone in on the 1st Tuesday (3rd).

Worried that its not in there yet
Suprised Laser wasn't rejected when there was no money in the account.

Anyone else not gotten theirs yet?

if i were you i'd ring your local office, there was a piece on the news yesterday that thousands of child benefit recipients who didnt return a form sent out last year did not receive a January payment.
