Hi, I've just trimmed a massive 30 year old Hedge and it looks like Dublin recycle centres would charge me 24/25 Euro for a van load of the trimming.
Any cheaper alternative to recycling it in South Dublin?
    Thanks, Arik

Invest in a shredder perhaps? You will probably have to cut the hedge every year and the shredded cuttings make a very good compost.
If it's a once off job, maybe a tree surgeon would shred them for you - no harm in asking.

Yea but a good shredder. not some cheap light plasticky thing as most seem to be these days. A good petrol powered or electric maybe (as close as possible to 3kW) should shred a hedge like sht off a shovel. There are a lot of gimmicks out there that you'd have to stand there all day feeding tiny twigs into it.

If you weren't so far away i'd say leave it outside the gate at my place. No way I'd pay someone to take valuable composting material off my hands

For the time being I've set up some sort of compost heap in my back garden (have one pallet at present, where the trimming will (hopefull) rot away.
It's not fun as the recent storm spread it a bit.
I'll look at those shredders as in the long run it makes much more sense to have one of them on hand.
    Thanks
