Great Outdoors, 53 Degrees north and Snow & Rock all have them and you can try them on.

My helmet has a gap in the foam to allow room for my ears, I just bought some headphones (not the earbud ones) that have a wire attached to each speaker and broke off the head piece, they fit perfectly into the helmet and sound great.

You can buy helmet speaker kits on ebay that you should be able to fit with a bit of persuasion to any helmet. There are good few helmets that are built to take them directly into the ear muffs.

Also - doesn't sound very safe to me. Need all your sense whne barrelling about the place:D

I find these things generally cheaper with greater choice in resort, rather then the couple of outlets available here.

This can be true, but two seasons ago I got screwed on a pair of boots in French resort. Sometimes the resort salespeople will play the 'no speaky eeenglish' card combined with the 'stupid tourist doesn't know anything' card and the 'this is what I have in stock' card. Whereas the guys in Dublin, where I should have bought but didn't, would have sold me exactly what I wanted.

There is a 10% premium in every ski resort on all products (This does not apply for the last weeks of the season)

There are a few options but a little trick to lower the cost is buy the same lid without the speakers and pick up the speaker kit on Ebay saving approx 20-30 euro!

If you can't find what you want in the shops, another option is to order several sizes online and return the ones that don't fit. Thats what I did.

The one thing about buying in the resort, is they have a much larger range of items. And there will generally be a good few shops selling different stuff. So you'll get everything from low range to mega-pricey things. Here, I find it's quite limited and it's only really mid to high range on offer.

There is a Trespass helmet I'm after - its about €25 and it looks great. A friend has it and it has ear pads and it's rather neat. I just rang the shop and they said they'd have them in in a week or so.

They have that helmet for sale in the trespass shop in the Outlet banbridge, I was there yesterday and saw it. I think it was around the £25 mark.

Give them a call and arrange to try them on. Not the cheapest, but my demon lid has given me 3 seasons now without any issues. You need a good loud input for the audio buds;also try and see if Burton audio pads fit.
