    Hi,

I am new to Boards so hopefully I am posting this in the right area. My daughter will still be 16 on January 1st, 2012 and I am wondering will she qualify age wise for the VEC grant. This seems to be their cut off date
for age eligibility but when I check their web site they are still in the 2010/2011 college year. She will be 17 later that month. She would be starting college, hopefully, in September 2012.

    Thanks.

Is it not 17 by jan 2013?
I was 16 in December 2007 before the September 2008 I started college, turned 17 2008 in April applied for VEC grant 08/09 in the summer 2008 and started college and got the grant, if she is a few days too young there might be discretion but I doubt it on paper she is a year too young, one of us is mixing up the rules might be me as its been a while best thing is to ring up vec see if anyone will clarify at best or fight your case at worst.
