    Hi There,

I got an inquiry today would I take in 8 incalf suckler Cows (not calving till June) for B&B until 1 April. I have a spare capacity in my Slatted shed!

I was just wondering what are the procedures for it!
What sort of money should i be charging more importantly ? ;)

They fully tested and clear ?

Are they IBR & BVD tested?
What breeds and average weights? (to gauge feeding costs; a 750 kg cow needs a lot more feeding than a 500kg cow)
Is the owner far from your shed?
Are you sure you have enough fodder to accommodate all yours & his without need to buy in?
What terms would you be on if one got ill/aborted/died?

Just don't get caught on the small stuff!

You have to put them in your herd the same as if you are buying them.

does anyone know how B&B accomodation effects stocking densities

If someone takes cattle in the proper manner, ie testing in testing out. can you use these cattle to boost your stocking levels for the year??

B&B form is NBAS 31B.Tested coming in and going out.
If other farmer is providing feed and labour himself -shed rental works out at 30c a day/animal(8 cows x 0.30 x 140 days = E 336)
