I've just moved to Lucan (Westmanstown), and after being off the bike for the guts of a year figure it's time to start getting out again. Can anyone suggest any nice routes (about 40km to begin with) around the area.

Might also look into joining up with a local club if there is one for Saturday or Sunday spins if there not too demanding.

    Thanks.

There are several local clubs not least Lucan who start spins from Staggs Cycles. They cater for so-slow-you'll-freeze-to-death to so-fast-you'll-puke.

As Lumen says, Lucan Cycling club run a number of spins on Saturday mornings, from circa 50km spins for beginners, to 100km+ spins for experienced riders. We've recently started a third intermediate group for anyone looking to move up from the beginners. Spins start from Jimmy Stagg's shop on the main street in Lucan every Sat at 9:30.
