    Hi all,

As per the thread title, looking for any recommendations of independent garages around Cork? Need to get my front wheel bearings replaced. Usually go to Windsor on the Straight Road, but always found them to be expensive.

+ 1......Fantastic guy to deal with, and defo won't rob you.(Not open Monday though).

Others would be Mick Kelly on Pouladuff Rd....

Or John Flood on Stephen St...(Little tiny street across from the Tower on Tower st).

Brian Powell in Pouladuff by Forge Hill looks after my cars. Id say he's a little expensive but does the job well.

Seconds for both Ardfallen and Brian Powell here. I had to stop going to Brian a few years ago as he's quite expensive, but he and his crew are generally very good. Started going to Ardfallen for specialist BMW stuff recently and I've been equally impressed; not as expensive as I was expecting either. Both seem to specialise in high-end but they seem happy to work on anything.

........ realistically a decent independent outfit may well not be much cheaper than Windsor for wheel bearings, no diagnostics needed, no troubleshooting, just a simple parts and labour job, what was the Windsor price?

In saying that I would sooner a reputable independent than a main dealer, some good ones mentioned so far.
