Hi just looking for some advise. I have been accepted to do a pgce ( english with drama and media) in Canterbury Christ church but I am quite worried about funding as the fees are gone up to nearly 9000..will an Irish grant cover my fees or can I get an UK grant or does the Irish grant extend to England???
I have looked at Canterbury and I know with having a 2.1 I can get a busary of 5000 pounds but can I get any other funding does anyone know as I will have to travel for up to two hrs each day and this will be costly considering my last trip to Canterbury Christ church..I have also applied to Coleraine in Derry and accomadation is very cheap here and general living costs and course fees too but does any one know what funding I can receive if I was to go here in september 2012? Can anyone offer advise very confused what to do.

As an EU student you can apply for a UK government loan to cover the full cost of the tuition fees (it's granted automatically). You only start repaying once you are working full time and earning over a certain amount - around £21,000 I think.
You can get the loan if you are studying in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. You won't be eligible for any other UK government grants or loans as you are not a home (UK) student. You can get most of the info via this link:

If you decide on Coleraine you won't get the bursary of £5,000, that's only for study in England & Wales. As far as I know, you can apply to your local authority for a maintenance grant for study in Northern Ireland - not sure where you stand on that one though after the cuts to postgrad grants in the budget.
