    Hi all

I have friends coming over from the UK on the 30th of Dec. They have shown an interest in playing old Ballybunion.
Does anyone know how its playing at the moment ie. playing off fairways (place to the rough) or playing off mats.

    Thanks for the help

Fairways are out of play for the winter(November to end of March), you must drop off to the side.
It's still playable and enjoyable imo and @ €65 (half that with Kerry card) it's still good value

If thats good value in your world then its no wonder that BallyB give ordinary Irish golfers the two fingers.

If there ever was a club in Ireland that made no effort to encourage their fellow citizens to come and enjoy a gem that they inherited by accident then Ballybunion is IT.

They got used to the trips to Winged Foot and Birkdale and hob nobbing with the Gentry and North Kerry's finest gentlemen have forgotten their roots.

It keeps the riff raff out and that's never a bad thing imo.
