Lock nut snapped this evening, been told i'll need to get something welded onto it to get it open. Need the car for Monday morning, its a Sat night now. Can anyone help? also I can get the car as far as a garage (used kit to patch up in meantime) but are there any many open on a sunday and who will do this?

The tyre needs replacing too. Based in north dublin. any help appreciated

A lot of the tyre places will have a kit for removing locknuts so if you can find one open tomorrow it'd be worth a call. Otherwise a lot of the tyre places( the bigger ones anyway) will have someone on call to do truck tires, It might be worth ringing around to see if one of them would do a car tyre for you. Cant do any harm by not doing it.

Otherwise find someone with a welder and ask him to weld a wheel nut into the locknut and remove that way.

Beat a socket (that's just slightly bigger than the locknut) on over the locknut and undo that way. Tried & tested!

I might be able to put a weld on it tomorrow pm for you if you're still stuck.

Put up a pic. How much meat is left to weld to ?

I'm on the south side though.
