    Hi Guys.....

I got remote central locking fitted to My car the other day....

The car had central locking,,so I bought the kit for it,,and got it fitted.

On the new Fob,,there is a "blank" for a key...So,I went about getting the blank cut to match My key...

However,I tried Cunneens on Oliver Plunkett St here in Cork, but they won't cut it for Me..

Any ideas where in Cork I can get it cut,,and an idea of the price please?

I don't need to have it done,,but I'd like to have it.

I'm not pushed about the "Chip" in the key,,as I can get that from the original and swap it over.

    Thanks..

I'm not familiar with Cork but most lock smiths should be able to cut it for you I would imagine.

However,,I was told that they wouldn't cut the key for Me...

Did they give a reason why?

Did they give a reason why?

Probably cause they didn't purchase the key there I'd say.

    What's the car?

Try MacLock, they're right next to the South Infirmary Hospital in the old 'coffin' shop.

The guy there said his boss wouldn't let them do it,as they normally don't do that type of car key....

He said it might break his €90 key cutting machine.

A lot of locksmiths are now refusing to cut spurious key blanks as they reckon the materials in these blanks will damage the cutting tool. I bought a blank flip key for my car and had a hell of a time getting someone to cut it, and when I eventually did find someone it cost me €25.

I would have expected to pay around that anyway,,at a max like.

It's just finding somewhere to get it done is the problem.
