    Hi,

Anyone out there with any suggestions of how to intall a program to a laptop without admin rights? Have a work laptop but would like to get sky desktop installed but don't know how to get around the admin rights issue.

Any help, even if it's simply to tell me it can't be done/stop wasting my time, appreciated.

    Thanks

    P

It can't be done. The whole purpose of having limited accounts, particularly on work machines is to prevent anyone inadvertently installing malware which could affect the whole network.

Whether what you want to install is harmless or not is irrelevant.

First check your employment contract as it's probably a disciplinary issue.

One major issue in the past was when people installed a copy of Project or whatever and then the company having to pay out a grand for a license after an audit.

Unless your work has tons of bandwidth to spare they are extremely unlikely to want to have you leeching away, also if it's an older laptop there is the possibility you could fill up the drive and that's not regarded as a good thing.

There are also IMRO issues if you play the stuff in an office.

From an IT perspective there are no upsides.
