Boxing News are running a poll to see who is the best middleweight out of Barker, Murray and Macklin.

Have your say on the poll at the top right corner of the page.

Has Johnny Hips been taken out?
Andy Lee is more skilled than all them, Macklin would probably be the most effective of the three.

Slightly unrelated but what do people think of Gregorz Proska's chances at world level. He took apart Sebastian Sylvester in impressive fashion recently and now seems to be a good time to be breaking into the world scene at middleweight. Sturm looks finished to me and Martinez was unimpressive against Barker and will have to regress soon.

What little I've seen of Proska, he'd horse the lot of them, very talented. Don't rate Sturm or Slyvester all that highly though so it'll be nice to see him tested again by one of the other contenders.

Barker is the best of the three.
He made Martinez look ordinary for much of their fight before being knocked out. I don't think it was a case of Martinez having an off night.

While Barker made Martinez look bad, he didn't win many of those rounds regardless so saying he made him look ordinary is a bit much... He's a European level fighter.

I'd say a fight with him and Macklin could go either way, depends on who enforces their type of fight, If Macklin makes it a war, I'd say Barker's stopped late... if Barker boxes well, he'll frustrate Macklin to a decision.

Macklin should have had a win over Sturm, who is at World level.

Well, yes, it would be more accurate to say Martinez struggled to look good against Barker for most of the fight. I put that down to Barker's ability rather than it being a off night for Martinez. I think Barker would easily outbox Macklin over 12 rounds. Sturm is a poor champion. I'd fancy Barker to beat him as well.
