In fairness that Jaguar will still have near €1000 road tax, around 20mpg and not a huge amount of performance either. Similar to your Range Rover in some ways then. How about an Audi S4 Quattro with the 2.7T engine?

Also dunno why but I have a sneaking suspicion that that Jag could be on UK plates. Very rare car to find over here.

hmmm dont mind the tax so much its the fuel consumption, or lack of that bothers me. i also figure as diesel is the same price as petrol i might as well have some smooth quiet motoring for a change! 4k is max budget im afraid. ill look at the quattro and see!

That car looks like it's being sold by a dealer, look at the cars, all UK reg and have stickering on the windscreens indicating prices.

It could be a good move if your Range Rover is worth in or around the same money and you get that for it in a private sale, if your Range Rover is going to have to be sold at a big loss you might be better to hold on to it depending if you are doing mega mileage or not.

Another option would be a Subaru Outback with the 2.5 litre engine and 4WD. Seen a few about on Carzone. I did see a nice A4 3.0 Quattro for sale though...
