ive only been with one person but ive been with her a couple of times and now i can safely say i think im awful at it when we go to bed

im going by the latest encounter, it was after a night club so few drinks taken but that wouldnt have been the entire reason, for the whole night i was trying to get it and couldnt, then when i eventually did, it just felt as if i was doing it wrong, eventually we swaped positions and only then was there some kind of action. and eventually i remember thinking, nah dis isnt working at all im giving up.
needless to say, it was a bit embarrassing and the empty condom didnt help matters

anyway im tryna make better before such a disaster happens again, what can i do to fix this? i know im woefully inexperienced and practice makes perfect, but i really dont want anything like that to happen again.. advice?

That sounds a little awkward, but not 'terrible'. You'll get more comfortable as you go one.

And drink does definitely make a difference (both for getting it up and not being able to finish), so next time skip the drinks, or keep it to 2 max.

Overall, keep experimenting (like switching positions). Do more foreplay. Ask her what feels good. And don't 'worry' so much about it. It's not a test that she's judging. Be playful, relax, ask her what she likes and doesn't like, and keep trying things.

I wonder would it be worth looking at helpful videos or books so you can learn more about technique and who does what?

Sex can be awkward at the start of a relationship, even for people who have been having sex for years. It's about fitting two bodies together, it takes some time and communication to get it right.
Have lots of foreplay and use lube.
You need to communicate with her around what feels good, let her guide you if needs be.
And don't be afraid to move around and change positions til you find what works.

Jaysus man, dont be so hard on yourself!

You have only had sex a handful of times,Ive had sex alot more than that and Im still learning! As cafecolour said, forget about the booze the next time as it de-sensitizes the penis and more importantly ask your partner what she wants you to do.

If ye are not at the stage where ye are comfortable verbalizing what you both want, let her hand guide your hands, nobody will know her body better than herself, and the same goes for yourself.

There is no quick fix to becoming a "stud" but thats part of the fun of learning with a new partner, practice really does make perfect.
