Just came out to my mom.

So I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and tonight just felt right. I knew if I tried to say it to her face I'd pussy out, so I wrote her a letter. I brought it into her room, gave it to her and went back to my room. A few minutes later she came into my room smiling, she hugged me and I started crying. She told me that I shouldn't have been so worried, that she loves me and that nothing will change that. I told her that nothing anyone could say would ever mean as much to me as hearing that. She said I must have been really stressed thinking of this while being in Leaving Cert. and I said I was, she told me again that she loved me. She said she'll tell my dad tomorrow if I want.
I was sort of expecting rejection, and I have never been as happy in my life as I am now. Ever.

it's a great feeling, isn't it? When it goes well? I had the same reaction from my Mum, and it just felt so great, like a giant weight was lifted off your shoulders. Well done for doing it.

Update: Dad came home, came into my room and told me to go to sleep and he went into his room, then he came back into my room smiling, saying that mom had told him. He said it wasn't really a surprise but that it doesn't matter to him and that he loves me. He said that it's hard enough being my age without having to worry about that so he's glad that I told them
