Will bodywork repair void my warranty?

Posted yesterday but edited details of my post.
Front wing of car was badly dented by a car door blown into my car in strong winds on Thursday.
I was not in the car at the time and the owner of the other car did bring it to my attention.
I got a quote from main dealer today it will cost €1200, (€700 is labour!!) to replace the panel!
I just feel that this is an awful expensive quote for a fairly straightforward job.
I just want to know if anybody has experience of something like this and knows that if I get it replaced using genuine Toyota parts/paint but not at a main dealer will it void my warranty? Parts & paint cost €350 exc vat. Labour at local panel beater/sprayer would be a lot less than €700!
My car is only 1 year old.

    Please advise

P.S. I do intend contacting my main dealer tomorrow - just looking for advise from others who may have been in this situation.

It won't void the warranty as long as the accident or repair doesn't contribute to a warranty issue.

Obviously the anti perforation and paint warranty won't stand up on the repaired panel.

Why do you care? Is the other person paying?

You'd want to be sure it's done right. even a 110% main dealer job won't be the same as a new car.

I think prices even at main dealer body shops are down significantly when dealing with insurance claims. I dont think they would get anything like that amount through insurance.
Certainly sounds over the top to me.

This is similar to an issue I ran into recently. From lessons learned with that issue I would defo go back to the guys you have the warranty with to get the repair work done. No matter what the cost.

I asked dealer if it wasn't going through insurance how much it would cost and he said approx €900. Still very expensive.

The other driver passed the quote details on to their insurance company who said they would dispute that quote, they believe that it is too expensive, and if so I would have to put the claim through my own insurance.

That is why I am asking for advice.

I dont think that price will fly with an insurance company. There is little room for overpricing now in the insurance repair business. They all work off the same pricing system.
As for claiming off you own insurance, dont do that. Somewhere between the insurer and the dealer, a price will be sorted. Its not your problem.
