So i just got an email from Paddy Powers *Not the first time gotten something like this*

Giving me a special welcome back offer.

Liverpool to beat QPR and Real to beat Barca 9/2 20 euro max bid.

20 euro wins you 110 back.

    Worth a go??

Well a double of them at the normal odds is 2.41/1 so considering you have them at 4.5/1 I'd consider it a good bet. I fancy madrid and liverpool to win and although madrid are by no means a sure bet I would consider 9/2 for that double to be a good value bet! If it were me, I'd stick 20 on it and i wouldn't stick 20 quid on a bet lightly! :P

Ya im tempted just mainly not sure over the Madrid Barca game as who knows what could happen.

    Take the 9/2.
If Liverpool win, and I think they *should*, you've got 9/2 on Real who are currently 6/4.
Say you put down 20, you stand to get returned 110.
So if Liverpool win, throw maybe 45 on Barcelona +1 Goal (8/15).

If Real win, you've made €45 profit.
If Barcelona win, you've done a little better than break even.

This of course is all allowing for Liverpool to win!

Look at the amount of times Liverpool drew at home this season 71% (5 out of 7 games)

There is no value in backing Liverpool

Tis true that Liverpool haven't been too impressive at home this season but still it is a tantalizing bet.

If its really enhanced that much it could be worth it but not for me, there on my blacklist.
    Good luck with it

For sheer value you have to stick 20 on it. Liverpool should beat QPR but i think Barca will beat Real. You should still take it - too good a price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,466 ✭✭✭tim_holsters

Agree with the above, you've got to stick a score on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,103 ✭✭✭Derek!

It's value alright, it just seems like the type of game Liverpool would mess up to me.

I hope you're not taking this bet then if that's what you think :P

    20 euro max bid

Worth a flutter but it is a very small stake :(
Assuming Liverpool win and they are 4/11 to do so, you're on Madrid at 9/2 ;)If you don't like it, after the Pool match, lay Madrid on Betfair to guarantee yourself a profit.

Liverpool have a crap record against promoted teams. Wouldn't touch it with someone else's money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,466 ✭✭✭tim_holsters

True but there's always a link that breaks the chain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,361 ✭✭✭YouTookMyName

Ya not when it comes to The 'Pool.

So you are doing QPR+1 or +2 then for sure.

If i place that bet 100 times and win nothing, i'd do it again.

    Subjective.

Never bet on Liverpool. Bad enough watching without money being involved.

So after all this.......... I still dont know what to do :pac:

Probley end up doing nothing because its to unpredictable.

Still have the feeling it could be a very winnable bet on the right day.

Wait until you see the Liverpool line up, if they start with Carroll its a no bet! If they go with at least two of Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez, in attack then give it a go.

If you look at PP's regular prices and consider that Madrid are a 6/4 shot then that would make Liverpool 6/5 in this double. Cant see why this is a bad thing. I'd be the first to agree that backing Liverpool at short odds is the road to ruin but at 6/5 it's value. I'll buy the bet from you, OP

I would take it to be honest. Regardless to the team that Liverpool go with, with or without Carroll, they are absolutely better than QPR.
Then if you feel undcomfortable about Madrid, take the Barca +1 and secure some profit.

There is no question that it is a value bet. Get on it.

Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Adam, Henderson, Downing, Maxi, Kuyt, Suarez.

Subs: Doni, Kelly, Carragher, Shelvey, Bellamy, Coates, Carroll.

Nah i tried it last nite page went blank tried it again at half 2 and kept saying there was a problem ring customer support so i said feck it.

Really big shame if Madrid win now would of been a handy 100 euro or so.

I got a simlar email from Paddys few months ago for United and Chelsea to win one weekend and won 75 euro so these do be decent offers.

Why are you getting these emails and i have been betting footy on pp for a long time and not one email.

They tend to spam you when you stop making regular bets to entice you back.
