Spotted this deal the other day in a flyer in my gran's house.
If you're single or a small family and can't be bothered making puddings and wahtever, this is a pretty decent deal.

    Round Iced fruitcake 700gm -€4.99
Rich Fruit Christmas pudding 474gm -€3.99
    6 Deep filled Mince Pies 360gm -€1.89

    Total separate selling price -€10.87

So all that for a fiver is a decent deal...only had couple of the pies so far, and they're grand. I'd say you'd have it hard to buy the ingredient for these for a €5 nevermind cooking them.
This has been running all week and ends sunday according to flyer.

These were Just reviwed on 4 live today and the people that tasted the xmas cake from Dunnes said it was vile.

the cake and the pudding are vile, the pies are ok'ish. You can buy 12 really good mince pies in Tesco for €3 and they're gorgeous with a good hot cuppa.

I got this last year and it was perfectly OK. I bought 2 sets of them for this year.

Calories? The more the better in weather like this.

As for vile, can't say, pies were grand (Tesco ones are nicer tho)... vile is coming from people probably hooked on M&S stuff at 3-4 times the price.

Nothing can beat homemade but tbh I cba this year, the effort and the cost of ingredients isn't worth it. Damn it I'm tempted to open the cake now and see what is so vile about it...

I have been taste testing all the mince pies :) The dunnes ones are pretty much on a par with the M&S ones. The M&S are ons pecial at the moment with €1 off. The Tesco Finest ones are the nicest imo. Not crazy about their ones from the bakery though.
Worst were the Dunnes puff pastry ones.
