Car hire in the UK for young male

    Hi

I am looking to travel to the UK for the infamous Ford Fair next August. Realistically, my best option is to fly and hire a car over there. I will be 22 early in 2012 so this limits the amount of company's willing to hire to me. I have a full clean Irish licence for over 3 years now. I have checked some of the usual company's such as enterprise and they only hire to 23+. I have found a company called 5th gear ltd, they would offer me a Ford Focus for the day including young driver fee and risk reduction for just under £100. However, I have never heard of them, so if anybody knows more about them or can recommend a company I'd be very grateful. Thanks for any help.

i checked the site, they look legit enough. according to their terms they require a security deposit, "usually £250". they only require you to have your license for 12 months - i've checked loads of rental places in ireland for when i pop back and any reasonably priced one's require license held for minimum of 5 years :(

This still throws up a number of options for 22 year old drivers:

The caveat being that drivers being under 23 might be subject to a surcharge. I'd find the cheapest quote and call the company to find out how much it might be.
