Has anyone switched from a Galaxy S2 to an iPhone?

Or has anyone switched from any android back to iPhone?

I've had iPhones since the first one in 2007 but sold my iPhone 4 this summer and bought a Samsung Galaxy S2. I wanted a change and a bigger screen.

While it's a nice phone and the screen is fantastic, I find Android too fragmented and less polished than iOS and apps crash way more often. I've found the quality of the apps not as good aswell. I don't even use many apps, but even the basic operation of the phone is, I think, not as well thought out as the iPhone. There are too many variables, it seems fragmented and just isn't as nice to use.

In saying that, it's still a great phone, particularly the browser. But one thing that tipped me over the edge was this week. Some rogue app is dialing out on its own and costing me money. I want to wipe the phone (and update to new firmware while I'm at it) to get rid of it and start again.

    But I can't.

I use a mac. The Kies software that you have to use only works fully with a PC. They have a mac version but it doesn't allow backups or updating of firmware. I have a PC but it won't boot. I tried Parallels on the mac but it won't recognise the phone when it's in recovery mode. I tried to make a bootcamp partition but I keep getting an error. Very, very frustrating

At least with iPhone it was a simple "plug and press a button" operation with iTunes. Better integration with the mac.

Only thing stopping me is the screen size. I'm so used to the 4.3" screen on the SGS2 that the iPhone looks tiny in comparison. Don't know if I can go back...

Has anyone else moved from the SGS2 to the iPhone? Did the screen size difference bother you??

    Hi,
I'm about to do the switch back myself. I was using iPhone 3G for almost 3 years, switch to HTC Desire as iP4 was not as impressing and would cost me double the price of Desire. This June I renewed my contract and got SGS2. The phone itself is super awesome but the mess that the Android is, (poor apps, nightmare with updates etc.) is making me want to go back to apple.
4S looks like a much polished version of iP4. I agree the size of SGS2 makes it very small, but since I got my tablet I tend not to use phone for reading much.

Hopefully I manage to save enough monies to get me sim-free 4S soon!

I've currently got an iP4 and SGS2 and I don't really notice the difference of screens, that's probably because I'm always using both.

Have you thought about rooting your S2? I've put a MIUI ROM on mine and I absolutely love it. It's sort of like iOS on Android. Don't really understand what you mean by fragmentation though, every app I've downloaded has ran fine with little to no force closes. They DO happen on iOS for too. Well for me atleast.

One thing that annoys me with iOS is the inability to download anything from the browser.

One thing I really do love about the iPhone 4 is the resolution, but I'm used to the lower res. screen on the S2 now.

Don't really know where this is going now so yeah. :D
