just stumbled across 'Disco Kids' on tv3.

folks, say what you like about TV3, but if it wasn't for them, we'd have an entire nation thinking that having a state funded tv station(s) was a bad idea.

Apart from the jobs it provides its an awful station, shows the kind of low brow shiite that BBC3 shows plus a load of right wing documentaries like that disgraceful pro Shell one it commissioned, presented by that tabloid low life Williams, long live RTE I say.

Ps one exception Vincent Browne show!

    "Irish Cultural Identity" ? Z-factor, I'm deluded enough to think I'm a celeb, Crap-sposé, etc ?

Yeah, really cultural and worthwhile

Mark Cagney. That man can feck off and join the mile-high club like his fellow Corkonian Neil Prendeville. I could do without waking up to the self-righteous, mock-Joe Duffy act he carries on with every morning.

I believe his most recent senior moment was when he said 'We all know what needs to be done about the Euro crisis but that's politicians for you. Typical.'

Mr. Cagney goes to Brussels. 'Cos it's really that simple Mark! God, why haven't you deigned to give everyone the benefit of your macroeconomic wisdom before now?

Most of BBC3's stuff is crap like Snog, Marry or Avoid (or as Jmmy Carr called it Avoid, Avoid, Avoid) and Don't tell the Bride etc

Sad act was on his own so I think half-mile club would be a better name for it.

    Worth keeping for IDEAL alone.

You dont have to pay for it, like RTE / Tubridy / Marian Finucane / Joe Duffy ... It's FREE, and it's an extra station with some good and some bad programmes, that has had a lot of it's advertising revenue pilfered by RTE (cos it can afford to reduce it's advertising costs as it is subsidised)..

So in this one case I will be on the other side of the argument and say.. If you dont like it dont watch it... (it costs you nothing).

    ok, i think i'm done here. :)

That post doesn't even make sense!

The only good thing about TV3 is that it employs some people....I honestly can't remember the last time that I switched it on.

is that their evening news bulletin is watchable to the end as opposed to its rival public dis-service broadcaster's hour long drone-ing dirge of white noise dictated by vested interest.

Where a suffocating, pompous twat talks down us the viewer; gives out a story, repeats it again each and every time after 3 ad breaks in case it failed to sink in (I've debunked to the aertel news for lighter relief and clarity by then).

Next, tears the arse out of the story with a know-it-all studio guest . Not only that but a reporter at the scene on outside broadcast meticulously sifts through that story.

And then that poxy story pops up again during the deaf bulletin as you're awaiting the weather forecast. Pure stodge.

Oh, and TV3 has the personable Martin King, whereas the rival has the insufferable Noola Carey to top things off, oh good grief, i've almost emigrated!

TV3 has not a smidgin of lrish language input sadly.

TV3 is the most anti-Irish station you can get. Sometimes I think the UVF are running it.

Not strictly true. I need to change channel before that Meteor weather ad comes on because witnessing it twice in a couple of minutes is more than I can bear.

I reckon Meteor approached RTE with the same concept and were told to take a hike.

We don't pay for TV3 so I don't see the point in complaining about it.

The only time I would ever watch TV3, is if there was a match on. Even then, only if it was not on any other channel, as I find there sports coverage really bad. Especially Matt 'high pitched' Cooper doing GAA, with their bloody Ipads.

    Vincent Brown is ok actually.

I really hate their computer generated sets, that they always seem to use. I know they dont have the budget of RTE, but I think all there sets look really terrible.

    Well they have improved.

I believe the guy who used to be head of Eircom (I cannot remember his name) came on board a number of years ago and the amount of home grown programming did increase.

Since then they bid for, and won, rights to some of the GAA coverage, made a good few Irish documentaries, start the Vicent Brown show .

Prior to that they were just a carbon copy of ITV

Yea I suppose they're a bit better than they used to be. But still, there are no proper Irish accents on it. It has zero appeal to rural Irish culture. The only Irish accent is Martin King, thats a proper Dublin accent. The rest just have that mid-atlantic, half American Sweet Valley High accent. Disgusting.

There version of Loose Women is even worse than the ITV version and that is saying something. Rename it Fat, Fake Tanned Moaney Cows.
