I've been in a 2011 delivered plane and they had the same seats with the same, outdated logo in the back of the headrest. Link to the video?

Those seats are fitted on the A320's they took which were destined for Iberia. The seating was already installed - they're the eats Iberia use.

Aer Lingus could really do with updating their cabin, the design is very dated at this stage and the older A320s are looking a bit rough.

It would be great to see them replicate something the new Lufthansa short-haul economy class, the seats are really slim and the cabin is really bright and airy. It has breathed new life into their older 737-500s.

How about grey with dark green trim?

In addition it would allow them to increase capacity. LH estimate that introducing those new seats gives them the equivalent of 12 extra A320 in their shorthaul fleet. (180 aircraft overall)

......As the newly designed Recaro seats take up less room than the previous seats, up to two additional rows of seats can be installed on each aircraft. Lufthansa will thus be able to offer about 2,000 additional seats, which is equivalent to the capacity of twelve Airbus A320s.

Also the seats are 30% lighter so less fuel burn too.

However please note that LH is investing E170M in revamping the cabin of their shorthaul aircraft. EI may not be in the position to do this in light of the current state of the outlook for Irish aviation.............

That's true, but the Lufthansa short haul fleet is 4 or 5 times larger than Aer Lingus.

Even if they didn't mess with the cabin layout, and didn't opt for the ultra thin Recaro design which presumably costs a premium, they would still get:

    A fresher look
    More comfort and more legroom
    Possible weight saving

It's a pity that this type of upgrade isn't being taken at least on the new aircraft, whatever about retrofitting the old ones. Still though, from what I can make out from that YouTube video, the Iberia interior looks nicer to me than the Aer Lingus navy seating.
