would anyone know what happens if i quit a fas course , i really hate it and was only put on it because the course i wanted was cancelled, can i just return to the dole immediately and using the time i have continue looking for work or a new course? i know it sounds bad , im lucky to have a course but is a waste of my time and fas's money

S/w may ask why you left and may delay your payment if it is not a valid reason. Talk to your tutor and a FAS rep and explain your case and see will they give you aletter sting you are on the wrong course etc

I'd advise anyone to stay the hell away from FÁS.

I will agree with the previous poster. As an organisation they are an appalling waste of taxpayers money. I would suggest that you review the popular press for a range of scandals that would make your hair crawl. And like all such behaviours this is just the tip of the iceberg. From my own experience the organisation is inept and rife with cronyism with no proper regulatory authority overseeing their day to day activities. The sooner they are disbanded the better imo.
